The one thing this category lies about

Almost every cabin bag anywhere carries a badge saying airline approved. It is close to meaningless: cabin limits differ between Indian carriers and between fare types on the same carrier, and a badge on a photograph has no standing at a gate.

When the range does go up, every page will carry the dimensions in inches or the capacity in litres and will tell you to measure those against the fare you actually booked. That is a worse sales line and a better shop.
